Redmon Wines is kicking off Spring with $1 shipping on all Chardonnay purchased through the end of May. We are enjoying weather in the 90's this weekend in Napa Valley spurring plans for outdoor BBQ's, events and hopefully Chardonnay consumption in the next few months.

We'd like to share our excitement about the warm weather by offering this promotion and suggesting one our favorite spring/summer recipes that pairs beautifully with the 2009 Chardonnay. Watermelon Salad Recipe

½ medium seedless watermelon
1 bunch fresh mint leaves, chopped
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
1/3 honey

Preparation:

Slice the watermelon and remove the rind, trimming away the pale flesh adjacent to the rind, leaving only the sweet, bright red flesh.
Cut the watermelon into large dice, or approximately ¾-inch cubes.
Arrange the watermelon cubes on chilled plates.
Combine the balsamic and honey in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce to low and simmer until it reduces to a thickened sauce. Cool.
Drizzle the watermelon with the reduction and top with mint leaves
