Owner of Golden Gate Cellars, Frank Melis is the host. Frank has years of experience in the wine industry and has a knack for introducing his customers to "hard to find" wines" with the quality and value that he expects.

Redmon Wines is pleased to release 200 cases of our 2009 Chardonnay. The inaugral release of this wine sold quickly last year as our customers seemed to appreciate the style of this medium bodied Chardonnay that shows just the right balance of oak and butter.
Crisp and fuity, the flavors of this wine combine hints of melon, white peach and apple balanced with notes of lychee nut and tropical fruits. The french oak barrles add a touch of almond and vanilla.

We had the chance to host a dinner in Beverly Hills with celebrity chef Jack Lee last week. Baronness Kimberly Moore, CEO of The Echoleon Club invited us to participate. Her organization helps fund art programs for schools in Los Angeles as well as other needs in her area.
Jack's menu was amazing and paired with the wines beautifully. He started with Seared Jumbo Prawn & Scallop over Saffron Tomato Broth With Taro Square and Baby Arugula and ended with Filet Mignon with Perigeaux Sauce,Pommes Dauphinois, Baby Heirlooms Tomatoes & Asparagus.

Scott and I had the chance to pour our wines at an amazing party this weekend held a clients' home in Scottsdale, AZ. The group shared cooking duties and prepared an amazing menu of crabcakes with remoulade, stuffed mushroom with turkey sausage, beef tenderloin with a cabernet sauce served with hash brown potatoes Au casserole and grilled asparagus. The three wines paired beautifully with each course. My favorite might have been the custom red velvet mini cakes dipped in white chocolate and topped with the Redmon "R" in red for dessert.
We had a fun night educating this group of 25 on the Napa Valley and the release of our 2008 Cabernets. The group was a whole bunch of fun, the decor was beautiful and the food was delicious. We hope to get invited back again!!!
Redmon Wines is excited to release two beautiful Cabernet's this week. We have produced only 250 cases of each and expect it to go fast.
We are thrilled with the outcome of the Estate Cabernet this vintage and feel that the improvements we have made in the vineyard over the past years are really paying off. When we first took over the vineyard in 1999, we spent our first years updating the farming on our amazing 3 ½ acre piece of land. We changed the vines from head trained to trellis, put in a new irrigation system and paired our yield back from four tons per acre to two tons per acre.
We are also excited to release our first Cabernet Blend. We've been working hard on this project over the last years and were able to source fruit from two lovely, small family farms in both Rutherford and St. Helena. The blend is 81% Cabernet and 9 1/2% of each Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine is showing beautifully and will be one that will really evolve over time.

Taste Redmon Wines' soon to release 2008 Cabernet and enjoy a relaxed, fun & elegant evening to savor a three-course Southern Indian dinner. Redmon will be one of a number of small, botique wines poured that evening.
Guests will have the opportunity to view three independent short films curated by the talented folks at Indee TV! There will also be short Q&A session with noted film industry veteran Kim Aubry, producer of films like Apocalypse Now and Forrest Gump and founder of post-production studio Zoetrope-Aubry Productions.

The City Club's Chef Michael Munoz will be delighting your taste buds with tasty hors d'ouevres, and the beautiful ambiance of the Art Deco City Club lends itself to mixing & mingling as you work your way through the walk-around tasting.

Scott and I had the chance to host a great event for one of our customers in New York City this past weekend. We arrived in New York right at the tail end of the horrible winter weather and joined the group in Midtown.
We worked with an amazing New York based company to pair cheeses with our three wines. We paired a Sainte Maure goat cheese from the Loire River area of France with our 2008 Chardonnay, a French cow's milk Morbier with the 2007 Estate Cabernet and then a hard cheese called Sbinz from Switzerland with a barrel sample of the Cabernet Blend. All were paired perfectly.
