The 2011 Redmon Cabernet Sauvignon continues our tradition of producing a classic style of Cabernet Sauvignon that is the signature of our Redmon Wines portfolio. This Napa Valley wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from our Redmon Estate Vineyard in Saint Helena. The 2011 vintage is a highly concentrated beautiful dark purple that fades into a bright garnet ruby rim. Aromatics of fresh and dried violets give way to a classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromas and flavors of black currant, cassis, bing cherry and red cherry. Secondary aromatics are that of anise, clove, green peppercorn, cedar and vanilla. This highly focused wine displays a core minerality of graphite, gravel, and freshly turned black soil. The result is a masterful wine that will cellar for 15 to 18 years.

The Redmon Vineyard was originally planted over 40 years ago with Cabernet Sauvignon grape vines from the classic era in Napa Valley. Originally cultivated as a dry farm, the Clone 6 vines were grafted onto a root system referred to as “root stock” named Saint George. This root stock is known to be resistant to a number of pests that have plagued the wine industry for decades.

For 35 years this vineyard thrived, stressed from the dry growing conditions it has produced award winning wines that were the result of small berries, thick skins, and concentrated fruit flavors.

Today, Lisa is a second generation grape grower that continues the tradition of quality, while modernizing the growing practice in the vineyard. While still following a water deprivation approach, drip lines were added in 2005 in order to replace some of the older vines that had died out. With access to small amounts of water, the vineyard's life has been extended by enabling replanting and soil cultivation practices that ensure sustainability for many years to come.
