Milestone signifies first availability following previous vintage 97 Point rating

Redmon Wines, a premium wine producer in the Napa Valley, announced today the general availability of their signature Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. With only 250 cases produced, this boutique wine is available in limited supply to a select group of retailers and restaurants in California or directly to consumers across the country via their website. www.redmonwines.com.

Redmon's previous vintage earned a 97 Point rating from Wine Enthusiast Magazine (www.wineenthusiast.com and www.winemag.com) and quickly sold out. This rating represented the first ever rating of any Redmon wine and is helping to establish Redmon as a leading wine producer.

“We have worked hard over the last 10 years to evolve our Cabernet into an awarding wining wine recognized across the country”, said Lisa Redmon, founder and owner of Redmon Wines. “With the availability of our 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, we are continuing our journey to hand craft the highest quality, most delicious wine possible."

Scott and Lisa began producing wine in 1999 from their family’s vineyard in Saint Helena, CA, the heart of the Napa Valley. They now produce three varietals and have grown production from 25 cases to almost 1000 cases each year. Each varietal is produced from small family vineyards, much like their own, in an effort to preserve the grape growing and wine making traditions that Napa Valley is famous for.

We are happy to announce that we have bottled both 249 cases of our 2008 Redmon Cabernet and 252 cases of a 2008 Redmon Cabernet blend this week.  This will be the first relase of the Cabernet Blend and we are very excited about adding this wine to our portfolio.

We sourced the fruit for this wine from a couple small farms in Rutherford and St. Helena.  The blend will include 7 1/2% Cab Franc and 7 1/2% Merlot.  We are looking to release in January 2011.

Harvest is right around the corner and we are optimistic about the ripening of the fruit despite an unusually cool summer.  In typical fashion August marks verasion in the vinyard, which is the process of the grapes ripening from green to purple.  As of today, our grape clusters are most of the way there showing lots of purple and spots with green.

This might just be the coldest Napa Valley summer on record as we've had mostly 70 - 80 degree days vs. the 90 - 100 degree weather we are used to in the summer.  We will most likely have an increased hang time of about 2 weeks to give the fruit time to ripen and develop the flavor profile we are looking for.

Be on the lookout for an invite to come and help us with harvest this year.  We typically send out an e-mail mid September and invite you all to join.  We've done this in past years and is great fun.

Redmon Wines is honored to have participated recently in Disneyland’s California Food and Wine Festival in Anaheim, CA. We had the opportunity to educate 100 park visitors each day for four days on Napa Valley and our wines. Attendees were treated to a flight of three wines which included both the 2007 and 2003 vintages of our Cabernet and our newly release Chardonnay.

This is an amazing yearly event where Disney brings in some of the brightest chefs and winemakers in the world. Almost a million people visited the park during the six week festival and we thought our presentations were a huge success.

We are scheduled to participate next year May 21st – May 24th. If you are local to southern California or are planning a visit, you might want to mark your calendar to attend next year.
